Our comprehensive approach to integration ensures programme reliability and project delivery
Integrated Access Solutions
Axial delivers tailored worksite coordination strategies that align project requirements with operational realities and stakeholder priorities. Our team develops clear, actionable plans that organise site activities, optimise team movements, and provide transparency for all delivery groups. By coordinating with contractors and stakeholders, we reduce conflicts, streamline operations, and ensure worksite activities are sequenced effectively to maximise efficiency and safety throughout the project.
Programme Solutions
Axial combines planning, site access, and multi-disciplinary delivery activities into a coordinated plan. By embedding access requirements from the outset, operational constraints are anticipated and managed. Custom digital platforms and structured workflows allow us to align engineering, construction, and stakeholder teams, streamline progress tracking, and simplify updates. This gives stakeholders clear visibility of interdependencies, highlights potential impacts early, and supports well-informed decisions throughout the project lifecycle.
Construction Solutions
Coordination of multi-disciplinary construction efforts maintains alignment across contractors, client teams, and stakeholders. Detailed staging schedules, site layouts, and reporting structures guide safe and efficient delivery. Our integration specialists actively manage interfaces, facilitate de-confliction between teams, and ensure sequencing aligns with programme objectives—enhancing predictability, minimising risks, and supporting reliable project outcomes.
Integration Success Story
Seamless system integration delivering operational excellence
Wigan to Bolton Electrification (W2B)
W2B is a £100m multi-disciplinary project aimed at improving rail journeys across the North West. The scope included 21 kilometres of new overhead electrification infrastructure with 414 new stanchions, six bridge reconstructions and one new footbridge, modifications to 17 bridges and two new level crossings, signalling and track upgrades, and platform extensions at Hindley, Westhoughton, and Ince stations.
The Challenge
Buckingham Group and Network Rail required expert support to manage construction integration, ensuring works were efficiently planned within the available access and successfully coordinated across multiple disciplines. The project presented a shifting access footprint, complex design interfaces, and required continuous adaptation, particularly during the transition of Principal Contractor duties from Buckingham to Kier. Axial was contracted to provide Planning and Controls expertise from Approval in Principle design through to Project Close Out.
